Gift Ideas under £10

Want to get that special someone a little extra but don’t have a big budget? Or maybe you’re heading to see a friend for dinner and don’t want to turn up empty handed. Check out the list below for ideas and inspiration!

Your Time

Spend time with the person. It doesn’t have to cost you anything, you could go for a nice walk, offer to do their chores or spend quality time catching up.

A Hand Written Letter

What better way to express your feelings and appreciation towards someone than by putting it into words in a hand written note.

A Jar of Notes

One for the significant other. Whilst it doesn’t cost much money, this will likely take some time to make. Grab a mason jar and some coloured paper. Designate each colour to a theme such as “songs that remind me of us/you”, “remember when”, “romantic/positive quotes”, “reasons why I love you”, “date ideas” etc. and fill the jar with beautiful notes (maybe even 365 for a year of notes).

“Open me when” letters

Another one that needs a little prep and is more of a time investment than a money one. Grab some envelopes and on each write when each can be opened. Open me when you’re sad, happy, when you miss me etc and write letters or have something personal to your relationship inside that reminds them of how much you love them or to cheer them up, motivate them etc.

A Mix Tape

For those with a love of music, or with long commutes, make a mix tape. Include songs that remind you of them, songs you know they love and make them want to dance or smile. If you want to go digital, create a playlist on the streaming platform they use, or go old school and burn a Cd. If you’re extra creative, you could even add some recordings in there as if you were a radio host. This song’s dedicated to my beautiful wife…

A Voucher Book

Make a custom voucher book to be redeemed whenever they like. You can make it really personal and to suit any budget.Things like, Redeem for a foot massage, or for you to do the chores. Or you can go more intimate if they’re into it (make sure that’s really for them though, not you).

Jar of Sweets

If they have a sweet tooth and you have a spare mason jar lying around, head to your local sweet shop and grab a few different bags of sweets and pop them in the jar. Bonus points if you know what there favourites are.

Coffee

If your buying for a coffee drinker, grab them a bag of fresh coffee! There’s plenty of options in the supermarket, or if you have a local coffee store, shop local. There’s so much to choose from.

Tea

For the other half of people who prefer tea to coffee. You could shop for a nice tea, herbal, award winning, loose leaf. Lots to choose from! Just make sure they have a strainer if you go loose leaf. If you’re not sure you can pick them up for less than £2.

Hot Chocolate

A nice tub of hot chocolate powder is a perfect gift for those cold winter evenings. Go premium like whittards or Hotel Chocolat if you’re budget allows or follow a recipe online to create your own mix. And if your budget can stretch a few more pounds, grab a bag of mini marshmallows and can of whipped cream to create the ultimate hot chocolate bundle.

A Book

If they love to read, grab a book. Maybe a genre you know they love, or a best seller you think they’ll enjoy.

Chocolate

Chocolate is always a gift that goes down well. There’s lots of variety to choose from! If your budget can stretch beyond cadburys, mars or nestle, you’ll certainly be in for a treat. If you’re after quality over quantity, check out some of the more ethical companies like Tony’s or Hotel Chocolat.
